When setting up an interview, ask specifically where the office space is located, and where your interviewer who is currently speaking to you is physically located. You could use LinkedIn or other social media to connect with other company workers before getting too far along in the process. Sometimes vital information about the company is withheld until you are contacted for a phone, Skype or in-person interview (and sometimes even interviewing doesn’t seem to illuminate matters). For instance, the process often starts with companies using bots (not people) to search through resumes for keywords.ĭuring the recruiting/interviewing process, some companies seem to communicate mainly through third-party conduits, making it challenging to contact them directly and hence discover exactly who they are, what they do and where they are physically located. I usually do not find out about these alternative locations until I am called for an interview.ĭEAR JOB SEEKER: Job searching has changed radically in the last 10 years. Many companies say they are located in or near the metropolitan area, when in reality the company has a small office in the metro area, with the majority of their jobs out in the suburbs. While I do my due diligence to look up the companies before I apply, I feel I am being hoodwinked pretty frequently by their location. Other common destinations include the pharmacy, lab, waiting areas, and the washroom, if needed.DEAR AMY: I am currently looking for a job in a large metropolitan area. Upon arrival at the pick-up location, they will assist the matched patients and help them to scheduled medical appointment(s). Volunteers will be matched with their beneficiaries depending on their availability. In the process of journeying with our patients, we can all learn and appreciate their perspectives and challenges faced and strive to improve their healthcare experience! You can make a huge difference in our patients' care and well-being by enabling their timely attendance to follow-up appointments.

On average, the waiting time for activation of medical escort and transport service can be up to three months. Our community partners providing transport and escort services also face challenges in providing medical chaperone services as the demand surpasses supply. Going to the hospital for medical appointments alone can be challenging and daunting for some of these patients, causing them to miss essential medical appointments. These patients commonly have no available caregiver(s), physical/mobility challenges, and/or difficulties with wayfinding. Our beneficiaries would include elderly patients and those with mobility issues who need help navigating around SGH campus. For more of our programmes and initiatives, please refer to our PHICO website here >Īs part of SGH200 celebrations, we are piloting this Medical Chaperoning initiative for SingHealth staff to perform #OneKindAct through volunteerism! We are looking for more hands to accompany our patients from their drop-off location in SGH to scheduled appointments within SGH Campus safely. We have discontinued the medical chaperon project.
